Tracy's Employment Story

Tracy Rackensperger, Ph.D. lives life to the fullest!  She is a faculty member at the University of Georgia, Institute on Human and Development and Disability where she teaches undergraduate students.

When not working, you can find her fishing, rock climbing, surfing, tubing down Georgia's rivers or just about any outdoor activity she can find.  Born with cerebral palsy, she uses assistive technology for mobility, daily living, employment, computer access, and communication.

She firmly rejects society's definitions of what it means to have a disability.  "You don't overcome disability," she notes.  "You overcome society's low expectations of people with disabilities.  It's all about attitude."
